High-Speed Police Chase Ends in Serious Crash in Arkansas On August 5, 2026, Arkansas State Police Trooper Logan Hall attempted to stop a Hyundai Sonata after it was reportedly traveling around 90 mph in a 75-mph zone near the 24-mile marker. Instead of stopping, the driver allegedly accelerated to nearly 130 mph, continuing toward Trumann. As the pursuit entered a more populated area, Trooper Hall performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention near the 28-mile marker. The Hyundai lost control and crashed into a black SUV carrying a 73-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman. The SUV overturned multiple times, leaving both occupants seriously injured. They were transported to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis. The Hyundai driver was identified as 32-year-old Laloyd L. Hamilton III . Police say he initially refused commands to get on the ground before eventually surrendering. Hamilton was later taken to the Poinsett County Detention Center and faces multiple felony and traffic-related charges, including felony fleeing, second-degree battery, criminal mischief, drug possession, DWI and hazardous driving. Authorities also noted previous arrests involving alleged drug, firearm and fleeing offenses. This case remains a serious reminder of how quickly a high-speed pursuit can turn dangerous for innocent drivers
