At least three dead in Idaho shopping mall mass shooting

Police said at least three people were killed several others were wounded in a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho on Saturday afternoon. Footage captured the suspected gunman firing several shots into a vehicle before he was killed.

Video footage posted to social media claiming to capture the gunman who opened fire near an In-N-Out Burger in Idaho on Saturday shows the man firing multiple shots into a parked car.

The video, which is circulating online, shows a man firing a rifle three times into the windshield of a Tesla in a parking lot before he appears to search for another victim. It’s unclear whether the car was parked near the In-N-Out or another business nearby,

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks on Saturday confirmed a suspected shooter was killed and that an unknown number of others were injured. He said authorities are working to notify next of kin as well as identify the gunman and his motive.

Josh Palmer, a Twin Falls city spokesperson, earlier told NBC News that three people had been killed and two others were injured in the shooting near the fast food restaurant and other businesses on Blue Lakes Boulevard.

He added that he expects the number of those injured to rise.

Other video on social media showed the moment a group of people ran across a road near the In-N-Out to reach safety followed by what sounds like several pops.

man is also seen leaving a car in the middle of the drive-through with a rifle.

“They’re still shooting,” one man can be heard in the video, which was taken from a car stopped at a nearby intersection.

“Woah looks like he’s got an AK,” another man says.

The shooting shut down nearby roads and a bridge while authorities investigated. Hicks called the scene “chaotic” and said that hundreds of people were in the area as gunshots rang out shortly after 3 p.m. MDT.

Those people are all in the process of being interviewed, the police chief said. He added that the danger to the community has ended and that roads have reopened.

“This is the most chaotic scene that many of them will ever have in their careers,” Hicks said of emergency responders who rushed to the scene. “They rose to their training. They rose to the level our community expects.”

Twin Falls is a city of more than 56,000 people about 128 miles southeast of Boise, Idaho’s capital.
