The body of a U.S. Air Force airman made its way to a Springfield funeral home on Monday evening and her family invited the public to line the procession route.
The United States Air Force said that Airman Trinity Reinhart died in a “Humvee incident” on September 16 in northeast Colorado. Reinhart’s family said she was stationed at a base in Wyoming and attended Willamette Leadership Academy. Reinhart’s body was flown to Portland International Airport on the evening of September 25, and taken down Interstate 5 to Andreason’s Funeral Home in Springfield and is expected to arrive at about 8:30 p.m. The procession will enter Springfield from Interstate 5 on Beltline Highway. The processional was also be visible in the areas of B, F, and 6th streets in Springfield.

According to a Facebook post by Reinhart’s mother, she excelled in everything she put her mind to. Reinhart became dorm chief at her basic training camp in Texas where she also earned her Marksmanship ribbon and became a flight chief in tech school.
She rose quickly in the ranks at Willamette Leadership Academy according to former classmate Melissa Mondragon.
“I was really impressed and proud of her. She ranked up so fast and she deserved it,” Mondragon said. “When it happened, I was like, wow. Because she deserved it. And I was so glad it was recognized and how she ranked up fast the way she did.”
Mondragon said her and Reinhart were the two highest ranking women at the Willamette Leadership Academy.
“She was an amazing kind caring person,” Mondragon says. “She had a pure soul.”
Reinhart’s family encourages people to line the procession route holding signs, flags, or other patriotic items as long as they can do so safely.
